After finding this amazing wood necklace, I chose to go for a bohemian hippie summer look using the denim floral print bow shorts. The bag is also a very strong piece that you could use again and again, for many different looks. The top is yellow to celebrate summer, but anything khaki, cream or light red would work too.

For the fourth look of our Challenge of the Month, I decided to focus on the khaki herringbone tie shorts– I love the utility trend and how easy to put a comfortable, casual outfit together with them.
However, I also like to break down the (relative) strictness and masculinity of utility pieces by combining them with very feminine touches. A favourite trick of mine is to pair a khaki pair of shorts or cargo pants with a soft pink top, frilly if possible – like the silk pink wrap top by Coast I featured a few days ago. A few chosen accessories complement the look to create a dressy day outfit, perfect for a lunch with the girls and a shopping session.

There is a lot going on with this pair of shorts – big pockets, turned up hems, stripes, and a big bow! – so I chose to go for simple pieces to compliment it. There was also the issue of it being described as Mint Ticking Bow Stripe Shorts on the Miss Selfridge website – surely “mint” means green, but they look pretty grey to me! So just to be on the safe side, I chose a colour palette that would flatter either colour.
I started by adding a simple white vest but to keep things interesting, chose one with some subtle embellishment – the macrame detailing teamed with the braided straps of the gladiator sandals help create a bit of a relaxed bohemian feel, and so I decided to push it a little further by adding accessories that clearly take their inspiration from India. The result is a cute, feminine, casual summer look that will look great against a tan.

The first time I saw this Ikat Print Silk Maxi Dress, I thought it was absolutely stunning. This summer dress is now sold out from Warehouse‘s website, but ASOS apparently still has a limited number available in sizes 10 to 14, so you’d better hurry up if you want it!

PS: If the only thing stopping you from getting this dress is the lack of a good bra, make sure to check out my post on the best strapless bra on the market.

How adorable is the print on this clutch? Would work best teamed with a simple silhouette, such as jeans, a white vest and a black jacket. To take it one step further, add the following multistrand pearl bracelet and cute pastel pink shoes.

Words cannot express how much I LOVE this dress – it is absolute perfection. The print is absolutely gorgeous and reminds me of some of my favourite paintings, and I love every single detail about the cut. Unfortunately, at a whopping £795 it is really not in my budget. If by some miracle you are in possession of that magic amount and have also fallen in love with this gorgeous flower print maxi dress by Future Classics, you can find it at ASOS.
