Fuchsia and Black

This post is definitely not a summer clothes one. It’s once again too cold to get into the spirit, so instead, here is a colour combo that works well for colder temperatures—fuchsia and pink. While many teenagers have been favouring it for years—including my sister, who went as far as dying her hair fuchsia to go with her clothes—it’s not really something that you tend to find on the high street. However, I’ve been seeing lots of it in the shops recently, particularly in Oasis, so here’s a selection.

Personally, I am not a big fan of pink, especially not the ‘Miss Piggy’ pink that many seem to favour. However, I do agree that fuchsia can be quite striking – I like to team it with white in summer, which looks great on tanned skin.

Accessorize has just come out with these cute patent peep toe pumps which reminded me of Vivienne Westwood’s Melissa Lady Dragon PVC peep toe shoes. These two models are both shiny, both decorated with an appliqué black heart and of course, both peep-toe. One is flat and turquoise, the other is lilac and heeled. One is £22 and the other is £88. Neutral Bags and Shoes by Karen Millen

I went to a very pleasant Karen Millen event last night. It was the perfect occasion to check out the new collection while nibbling on canapés and drinking champagne. There were many lovely pieces but what really stood out to me were the bags and shoes. I’m a big fan of leopard print (as long as it’s done right!) and I really like this fresh and elegant version. I think the gladiators are gorgeous, but I don’t think I’d be able to walk in them! The monochrome bag and shoes are perfect for understated chic and will you please have a look at this gorgeous bow detail:
